Since I run the community team, I can tell you that it is a requirement of the job that the community managers play their game and understand it well. I know that many, many people play the games they work on (as well as other games). As I've gotten more responsibilities, I've had less and less time to commit - which is a problem with MMOs.įor Blade & Soul, I played my Summoner up to 40 during beta - but haven't had a chance to play my new Destroyer much since launch (we're in the queues, too!). Personally, throughout my career, I've played the games I enjoy a lot and the ones I don't care for enough to understand them. It's driving new players to be anti social, as the only real option currently is to mute most of the chat channels entirely. Thank you for all the hard work, hopefully some kind of solution can be reached soon. We know you guys are working hard on all of this already, and server queues are the major priority, we want the game to succeed as much as you do. Faction chat is the newest victim to the spam, and now unreadable on Juwol - Cerulean Order. Limiting free accounts to a certain level (5 or 6) in order to use chat functions would help a long way in at least stemming the tide.Īnother option, squelch timer on free accounts for posting x number of messages in y number of time. But that is a price I'm sure most of the community would be willing to swallow. There are ways to combat the problem and most of them result in F2P account restrictions when it comes to chat. The problem being, you shouldn't have to ignore other players trying to be chatty and friendly in game just to combat the gold spam.
